this is really nice. im not sure if the rest of it ever hits the heights of opale or deliverance. not much variety throughout but a really nice listen. i wouldnt call it shoegaze though, despite neige's proclaimed influences. sounds more similar caspian's waking season, but less heavy and with vocals. takk + waking season = shelter. im pleased but not blown away.

Great review as always Adam, I like your writing style.

The one track their released was absolute garbage (10 minute ambient piece).

Probably going to skip this entirely.

Surprisingly poor review; too much redundant background and not enough about how the record sounds. I also think you mean exorcised rather than exercised in the 2nd paragraph.

I enjoy the previous albums but not sure how I feel about all the BM being removed.

I've been meaning to fix that word in the second paragraph since right after I posted this but the review edit doesn't open right on my phone.

does it sound better with or without a cardigan on?

Well there's still the odd tremolo riff in there so if you look for them you'll still find the odd remnant of BM in there.

It actually sounds best with an argyle sweater vest

Kinda underwhelmed after first listen. I mean yeah it's pleasant, but it suffers from the samey-ness of its predecessor. Nothing really outstanding apart from Voix and Deliverance

try wearing a cardigan or even possibly an argyle sweater vest.
