Come on man.. Their drums are *OKAY* at best. Don't give them praise they don't deserve just because they wrote 1 or 2 mildly catchy songs. Think reasonably and rationally before you go around giving 5/5's to albums that are actually really standard, and will be forgotten along with the rest of the shit this recent emo-rock trend has produced in no more than 3 years.

I dunno. I haven't listen to these guys for ages. I got IBMB... about a year+ ago, and I really liked it. But these days they've just changed, with more obvious song styles and stuff. It just sounds generic after one or two songs. And MTV overplays them. Far too much

to me, it's an awesome album for people who like the used or muse. the used and my chemical romance are about the same age but the used happened to become popular faster. this album was a big change from "i brought you my bullets..." to "three cheers for revenge". I'd say i LOVED the guitar work on the first album. just take out the vocals and i would have loved it to DEATH. gerard's voice got kinda annoying on that first album... it didnt seem professional.. kinda sounded like he was live.... the guitars kinda good on this album too.. sometimes its hard to tell which songs are which if you've just heard them... but it's you who'll decide if you can tell the difference between good stuff and horrible stuff. if you get annoyed of the voice maybe its just you. HA. jk

i don't know what people think this type of music is, but it mcr who thinks theyre pop rock and stuff, other people would say different... like i bet a pop rock lover would say these guys are hardcore or a hardcore lover would say these guys are pop rock... or some inbetween dorks/weirdos would say they're just different
like frank iero said... call them whatever if you like it you like it whatever it is.

If you like it, you're musically retarded. Or you just don't realize that you don't like it, and you only find it mildly catchy. Because that's all it is. And it *IS* pop rock. Hardcore? Are you kidding? Ever heard Sick of it All? Ever heard old Killswitch Engage? Maybe some Unearth. Maybe a little bit of Cigar if you're talking hardcore *punk*. These guys are catchy and mid-paced rock.

They play pretty fast, at least they did when I saw them.

What's your definition of fast? Cigar is my definition of fast. The odd Thrice song reaches what I would consider "fast".

And roll your eyes all you want, there's a reason bands like this disappear within 10 years or less of their rise to the top. It may be a hard one, but it's the truth.

Faster than Green Day, though that isn't what most people consider "fast".

Basically, a little above the average modern-"punk" song.

Talk negative about Gerards voice all you want, it's an aquired taste and honestly even I can say it's horrible. The main reason that I like this band is the cinematic landscape that they can paint for the listener. Their songs really sound like a movie set to music, I think the level of storytelling really gets ignored.

Musically I think it's pretty solid as well, they arn't overly complex and that's something I feel can add a lot to a song. I mean a 4 minute long acrobatic solo is great when it fits the song but I see too many bands trying to stroke their musical penis in front of everyone instead of doing what fits the song.

This album is no classic but I've had a lot of fun listening to it and I think MCR deserves at least some respect from the people who call them complete trash. I understand it won't be enjoyed by everyone, most people even, but it is an album that did what it set out to do and calling someone a retard for enjoying that is simply ignorant.

Completely unrelated: Gerard looks exactly like Billy Corgan with long hair... I don't know when did I notice that.

Gerard got his hair cut.

Now he's Billy Corgan/Michael Jackson with short hair.
