"the wave" thing is over man. it was a joke to begin with.

It's not over, it just doesn't matter anymore. Back when they were starting to get popular, a lot of those bands were kind of leaders of the latest wave of hardcore, but now there's a bigger picture than just that group of bands in terms of what's going on in underground punk so the term's become useless.

No Savior is best cuz it sounds the least like Defeater lol

This comes off like a joke but it's completely true. Defeater needs some progression because whenever they start to ape Travels on this album, it just sounds totally uninspired.

This like letlive. all over again. Everyone used to suck their dicks and then they release a new album and suddenly everyone hates them. The new letlive is awesome and this is pretty good. This is definitely Defeater's weakest release, but it's not bad, by any means.

The ones on the last two were amazing, though.

Bled Out rules, although the ending drags a bit.

Some killer moments, then it's mostly mediocre modern hardcore by the numbers. Still could grow on me a bit though.

The reason why Empty Days was so awesome was because the band improved on all fronts and showed some progression. This is them trying to go back to the Travels style but they forgot to implement the progression they hinted at on the previous album.

I think the problem with both albums was that they forgot to be good
