I'm starting to fear the Contortionist won't ever release anything I like again-- hopefully I'm wrong, though.

I listened to Intrinsic last night in full and it was excellent. But, it's still not as good as Exoplanet. Very talented individuals in that band and I don't want to see the potential squandered.

Thought their previous work was shit, but the newer, more tame song they put a music video out for recently was pretty good. Is the rest of this album like that?

About halfway through the album and I have no clue where the "-core" comparisons are coming from. This seems like pretty straightforward prog-metal to me brah.

Also the "overwear its welcome" mixed-metaphor in one of the comments made me chuckle.

this kinda sucks so far. production is godawful, guitars and drums sound like garbage. and im definitely hearing synths in tracks 2 and 3

Listening to this now and it's not that bad

Just finished my first listen. I didn't love it but didn't hate it....it really has a "grower" feeling after one playthrough. In that...nothing really "pops" or has amazing melody like Level 2 did.

It's good. But quite directionless throughout most of it. Some really cool moments save it though.
