hard to see since it doesn't have the acclaim backing it like vii -- the story is pretty strange in comparison. i was pleasantly surprised by how well it'd held up though. and quite honestly, from what i've heard about the remake of vii, i'm inclined to be grateful viii isn't getting a remake lol

I'm about 30 hours into the vii remake and honestly, I think it's great. There are a few missteps, but overall it really hits the mark. What negatives have you heard? I've mostly been hearing resounding praise from most people.

Okay, I'm back after finishing the remake. Andddddd...

Yeah, I can see why people are mad. I'm not upset by the ending, in fact, it's fine in and of itself, but it does worry me for the direction Nomura might try to take this. The fact that it's more of a reimagining than a remake is fine by me, but yeah, they could fumble it hard and that would be unfortunate.

That said, I'm not going to complain too much, because I still thoroughly enjoyed the game.
