Someone called Godflesh "Drinking whiskey and watching the wall alone all night" music and I couldn't agree more.

Fuuck I might pop this up to a 5. Their whole career is brilliant, but the lofi simplicity of this really appeals to me.

Done. Imagine living in a world where a band introduces themselves with fucking Avalanche Master Song. Once in a century moment yo. Only keep on living to find out what the version for this century will be.

The more I think about it, the more it seems like my best album of the 80s (Streetcleaner is too ahead of its time to count as the 80s). Serious no wave+industrial vibes, culmination of all Suicide/Swans/Killing Joke etc. Dirty and nihilistic like nothing before or after.

curious if there are many godflesh fans on the site that really jam godflesh outside of the first two. no offense. really only ever see streetcleaner bumped and then this one occasionally. the discog is heat front to back imo, streetcleaner def amazing but it feels like a lot of y'all dont really give the rest of their stuff a chance

Yo I listen to My Own Light and Love Is A Dog From Hell and their cover of Straight To Your Heart (oh my god if you haven't heard that Godflesh/Loop split yet what are you waiting for) and lord know what else weird shit they've done almost daily. Frankly I've not yet heard a Godflesh LP/EP/bootleg shit that hasn't blown my mind.

I started with "A World....." and "Decline" and worked my way back. Still enjoy those albums and got into Songs of Love and Hate. Angel Domain is my jam off that album.

Going through their whole discog now and yeah there are bangers on their stuff after 1992. Their latest album has a bunch too, Mortality Sorrow might be one of my favs by them

Their whole discog is great but this, streetcleaner and pure are their best imo.

Selfless has been growing on me a lot lately tbh. I haven't heard this one in a very long time though. Will have to jam again

Selfless has some great moments but not a whole lot of variety between the tracks. Crush My Soul gets me amped

Was drunk at a party, had a Bandcamp notification that a limited edition vinyl of this was released, so bought it instantly like a bitch.
Only to later discover it would ship summer 2023. Fuckin Earache, man.
(worth it for that monster groove in Veins alone though)

"Sungod" is the best Godflesh song, and I will die on that hill every day
