God forbid the album has a clear production...

Yeah, their fans hate clear production. It's like they want them to record their new music on shitty 90's recorders.

I agree. The songs have more airy, open space to them.

Pretty solid album, and for me their best since the mid-90's.

Is this worth checking out. They're one of the few death metal bands I really dig but I haven't had time to check it out yet-been so bogged down with work. Is it any good?

I expected more from suffocation tbh
|
| |
So its not worth getting or downloading?
|
| |
In fact to put it simply how does it compare to their first three works?
|
| |
If you like Suffocation you should give it a chance, but don't expect too much.

"in fact to put it simply how does it compare to their first three works?"
this isnt shit compared to their first three. hell, all their other post-reunion albums are better than this.
|
| |
Fair enough. I don't like anything after Pierced From Within but those first three albums are enough for me to consider them one of my favorite bands, even though I don't actually like death metal, i prefer black. Breeding The Spawn might be excluded though arguably because the production was terrible.
