This album has one of the hardest side-a/side-b falloffs but I still adore it

Hmm almost everything from Summer Babe to Here is borderline perfect in my book, whereas the following tracks are decent but don't quite cut it

I actually prefer the B side slightly. Loretta's Scars, Perfume-V and Fame Throwa are some of my favourite tracks.

Loretta's is top-tier and Perfume is great fun, can't fault that

Here's a podcast with Stephen Malkmus.
I have no clue why these podcasts rarely gets any views.

Finally getting into these guys after finishing the Silver Jews discog (the opposite order from most people, I understand). Curious to see which I’ll prefer. On first couple spins this is def very good, “Here” being a pretty clear standout.

I need to revisit this but having now finished their discography I think this is actually my least favorite Pavement album.

worse than Terror Twilight? you really don't like lo-fi!

I guess? Like I said I need to revisit this now but good as this is I really don’t care at all about 8 out of 14 songs here, very uneven. I’m still digesting TT but there I like something about pretty much every song and the lows aren’t as low as here while the highs are about equal, if not a tad better (excluding “Here”).

TT has about 3-4 highs max though, while almost everything up to Here is a colossal banger :[

Idk, I just like consistency and this album really tanks after “Here” which is a colossal bummer. I like the singles off TT more than everything here other than “Here”, and after those you still have “Folk Jam”, “Ann Don’t Cry”, “The Hexx”, “Speak, See Remember”, and even “You Are the Light”. Tbh “Platform Blues” is the only TT song I’d rate less than very good. Again though I haven’t revisited this as a whole since moving forward with their discog so my opinion could change drastically.

I find this to be almost as consistent as Crooked Rain. Regarding what Doof said is this actually considered lo-fi? Damn listening to those ‘recorded on a potato’ black metal releases really paid off as this hardly registers on my ‘lo-fi radar’.
