CD version is better.

Does the current vinyl printing still include the penny?

Well you really should. I prefer it over the vinyl version as well. It's a five for me.

look at it less as "music" and more of a slideshow of sounds

Yeah I like the CD version a little better, but Providence kinda pisses me off with its slightly wasted potential. If that track was put together better, this would be their best album; as it is, I like Antennas and U.X.O. a bit more.

CD version is better overall, they really expanded on the ideas they had on the vinyl version, especially with East Hastings. everything felt so much more well thought out and just fits better.

but i agree, the CD Providence is a bit lackluster.

not hugely, but the differences are noticable. East Hastings is missing the whole huge climax and i think Dead Flag blues is a bit shorter. only heard it once and all i can say for sure is it went by way faster

I'd say if you have the CD version theres no real reason to check this out beyond curiosity/fanboying.

Pretty much just listen to it and you'll find out. One really can't describe the differences in two different versions of a really detailed album very well.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind a vinyl copy of this if they still are around.
