trap has been around since the early 2000s and is far past its peak popularity.
Flosstradamus and Baauer beg to differ.

Again - I think Aubergine is referring to actual trap music, and not the more recent electronic style that somewhat emulates the same sound

Yeah, you're right. Didn't see your comment

i see what you're saying, but trap seems like it hit its peak popularity with young jeezy and all of that stuff back in like 2005. it was completely inescapable for a while, at least in the US. but there has been a bit of a resurgence with electronic producers like tnght and purity ring incorporating elements of the sound.
also dev i saw this and i thought maybe it would make your brain explode or something.

it's actually pretty humorous that an article this uninformed can still be written in this day and age where all you have to do is type dubstep into wikipedia to know all about its history.

But also, how does referencing 2 relatively new artists argue against the sound still being past its peak in popularity?

I think I've seen that before, or one very similar to it. Meh, people say the same thing on youtube, it stands to reason that people can be just as misinformed and have the basic computer skills to type on a blog as well

As a fan of the first Skrillex EPs, I have to say I am disappointed =(
Tracks like "My Name is Skrillex", "Rock n' Roll", "Scary Monsters" and "Kill Everybody" all had
exciting hooks and were bursting with high energy. I love those tracks. There was something terrific
about that sound.
It has now been one year since the "Bangarang" EP (which I find good, but not as much as "Scary
Monsters"). Now, something is really, really, really needed. I was hoping his next release (especially
since we are in 2013) wouldn't be another EP but rather an incredible debut album.
I think he can make a comeback but I certainly am not amazed by those tracks. "Leaving" is okay but
that's about it =/
Skrillex, you can do much better!
