RIP to Chris and Dan
this has become one of my favorite albums of all time. when you're in the mood for it (and by that i mean distraught, fucked, devastated, emotionally drained, etc) it really hits on another level. straight up savage and the lyrics couldn't be any more perfect for the atmosphere, especially considering Dan's medical condition leading to his passing. truly a lightning in a bottle type album which reflects desperation and hopelessness in musical form. rock bottom

their band leader and guitarist Daniel Krauss died from Cystic Fibrosis back in 2009, he wrote most of their material AFAIK (they also disbanded right after). have to imagine a lot of their lyrics were inspired from his condition and mental state as well. sadly, tragedy has followed this band into the 2020s
