Nah, they dont come close of sounding like Meshuggah. Without synths, this would have been simply different. The synth does present some good dynamics, but it also tries to overreach sometimes, imo

I want to rate 3.5 because it is technically good, but I give it a 3 because it is often boring for
me. Partly because of the vocals, and partly because of how it all comes together as one big song that
by the end is easily predictable.

only one of these types of bands that i can get into. the monotonous, aimless vocals still annoy me, but i really enjoy the off tempo rhythms and the laborious musicianship they put into this ep

Dude the new vocalist is the shit, I don't get the hate.
And they should have saved the solo on the title track for the EP closer, would have fit perfectly.
Only gripe I have.
