a real classic from my second most favourite psychedelic rock band (after Ozric Tentacles).
I always love the weirdness of songs like You Never Blow Your Trip Forever and Perfect Mystery.

Amazing trilogy. If you met the pot head pixies, it’s a 5.

Great album. Actually, this band is really interesting. They have/had a huge number of musicians with a constant flux. Actually, this band could live far longer than a band normally does. I mean, the concept of a band is rather new still and retire after 50 years if they have a good run. It will be interesting to see how many bands remain even after all their original member are gone, one way or the other. Look no further than Tangerine Dream. I wonder how many albums they will release - but hey, they are still going. Okay, anyway, blah blah...

Master Builder is an absolute jam sandwich
I'm loving everything this band has done. It's like early Pink Floyd on an even more potent concoction, with better songwriting, musicianship AND humour

Floyd's the better band
but yes, Gong are massive
|
| |
1971-onwards Floyd, yes, but the comparison isn't really there
Everything I've heard from Gong so far is better than Syd Barrett's Floyd

oh yeah I can agree on that
Syd's Floyd rules as well though

Love this album. So wack in places, so monstrously immense and grooving in others, plus sprinklings of early electronica. I mean, Master Builder. Self describes the whole album.

keep forgetting to check this band - Steve Hillage was on a near-perfect dub techno collab that doubtless sounds absolutely nothing like them, but i've been intrigued for ages anyway

actually checked this band out the other day for the first time in maybe 10ish years of knowing them and this album and Flying Teapot hit so smooth
