After 2 listens I think it's only surpassed by Greatest Story and this. Belly of the Whale, Ghostwriter and Coyote Crown are the standouts for me.

The Greatest Story Ever Told (the album before this one) is essential. Go with that one first. It's a concept album about a disastrous turn-of-the-19th-century circus. I go back and forth between that one and OC as far as which is their best album.
Their b-side comp Cocktails & Dreams is also excellent. It stands on its own as album imo. Apathy and Exhaustion (their first release on Fat) rules, too.
