Yeah, it isn't the easiest album to approach. I felt slightly off-put and let down at first when I made it to Corps De Blah, but by the time I made it to Zercon I was thoroughly impressed. I wish Corps De Blah wasn't so disjointed, because there are so many interesting ideas floating around in that song.
The Tiny Mix Tapes review is really fascinating, but I wonder if Scott would get a chuckle out of reading it.

"SDSS1416+13B (Zercon, A Flagpole Sitter)" Is a goldmine of strange lyrics to quote.

just watched Fantano's review of this
sounds pretty damn strange to say the least.

The thumbnail to his review is pretty hilarious.

I'd love to get into this guy's work, but from what I've heard, it's pretty hard for me to take in
I dunno if I could listen to whole albums of it. Definitely interesting though

Epizootics is a strangely fun track. I'd say that it is my favorite next to Zercon.

So why have screams of laughter, the pissing stench of mares-milk beer, come to bait your toad down from his toadstool?

This sounds really interesting. I will check it out based on the strength of the review alone, it sounds very different so I am intrigued to say the least.

I feel the same way, Rosa. It isn't really easy to decide on a rating. And "SDSS14+13B (Zercon, A Flagpole Sitter)" is definitely the crowning moment on the album besides Epizootics.
Lakes, sorry for the late reply. I'm not really sure, it's possible that this album could be a good introduction for some. It technically has some more conventional rock elements and is a little more straight forward (while at the same time feeling more excessive in other ways). I actually started with the Drift and then moved back to Tilt, so doing them out of order shouldn't ruin anything. The attitude and feel of this album is a lot more crude, dirty and playful than his others. I actually prefer his previous two albums, but this album is in no way a bad ending to his "trilogy"

The Drift felt more meticulously crafted, some of the tracks on here come out feeling slightly underdeveloped. Maybe it's more of a 4 as a whole, but there are points on this album that are so good that they bump it up.
