Honestly, I try to never rate an album based on influence and legacy because that's unfair to current albums that are just released and haven't had time to produce a potential legacy and influence, (the main reason why I don't like writing reviews for older albums because taking the legacy and influence factors into account interferes with fairly assessing the music as it is) but I personally think there are a few exceptions to that, and this album is one of them. Again though, just my personal feeling.

plus, despite how good Something In The Way is, this album really lacks that 'wow' moment that In Utero had with Milk It and Unplugged had with Where Did You Sleep Last Night.
