no the dear hunter isn't post hardcore, but these guys are, at least to an extent.
i don't know specifically what you like, i just mean post hardcore that everybody and their grandmother knows about (at the drive in, refused, etc.)

While I agree that The Dear Hunter has some kick-ass songs, their music isn't as accessible in my opinion. Almost all of their tunes last longer than seven minutes and their debut album is like an hour and twenty minutes long.

You shouldn't, though. They are two very different beasts -- The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi is consistently down-beat and laid-back in a very ambient way, whereas this album is stuffed with energetic songs and fast-moving tempos. Broadcast Quality is an excellent example of this.

Now I get why some say Emery is similar to these guys. I was disappointed to not hear much similarity on the album after this.
