Haha, I'm glad to see that we have the same opinions again. I feel like everyone at Sputnik went listening to The 2nd Law trying to hate the album, and the album is so bipolar that there's enough ammunition for their bias to be confirmed.



I guess it's the same as how I look at "Madness" and think of how much I enjoy the final 1:45 and just tolerate the rest. Most people here I think would just say "it sucks" after the guitar solo or something and not give it its fair due (of at least having a decent ending). Like, a 2 I can understand if it's not your cup of tea. I just don't think anyone could dislike this enough to give it a 1 or 1.5 unless they're actively trying to dislike it.

I agree. Many of the ratings/reviews here just seem to be hating on it rather than going in with the mindset that it's not an album to be taken seriously. I would imagine these same people watched The Avengers with the aim of watching it in the same manner as a Stanley Kubrick film.
