man this one has so many brilliant riffs. the fact that Magical Shadows of a Tragic Past, Transylvania, and Under Ardallies Night is on the same album shows the talent on display here. i personally love when you can tell that they're playing off time but they clearly don't care and kill it anyway.
the lyrics are also pretty cool. i like thinking that the album's about a depressed guy who kills himself, expects to be one with the stars, but is rebirthed and molded into an immortal tyrant. but somewhere along the line he's turned into a vampire, and the cycle of his former life comes full circle. not sure if its on purpose but cool to think about anyhow.
