I'm an old fuck now and I still enjoy this album. You gotta understand when this shit came out it was unbelievable. There wasn't really anything like it at the time. It's been copied and done to death now but back then it was one of a kind. Pantera was the metal band of the 90's.

first they rip off exhorder, decent enough, then they turn into mindless chugcore with awful vocals and lyrics
no thanks

Try not to sound like such a sarcastic douche about it. It's no big deal, bud. I'm just having a conversation. It almost seems personal.

im js bro ive been into metal longer than most of this site's users have been alive on this earth, dont assume i dont understand pantera or something, its just that they only have one good album and everything else is toss, to someone like me who had heard a ton of metal at that point and has continued to hear a ton of metal
|
| |
tbh i never really got the exhorder comparisons, slaughter in the vatican was always way thrashier and heavier than pantera ever were

similar guitar tone, similar vocals, similar riffs

i guess but there are other bands that sound more like pantera than exhorder
maybe not at the time tho idk

I never made the assumption that you didn't understand Pantera. You're just on a high horse and I really don't understand why; It's not necessary. Again, I ain't trying to argue with you, but when you say shit like "I've been into metal since... blah blah .. you come off as an asshole. I'm sure you know everything. Here's actually an interesting snippet from one of the guys from Exhorder from an interview a little while back. Kyle Thomas: "The thing I hate the most of this topic is just how handcuffed we are to their success. Did they rip us off? Possibly. Was it deliberate? Maybe. Were they influenced by us? Definitely. Did they work a helluva lot harder than we did? Absolutely. Case closed."

Music is entirely subjective whether or not you think you know it all. My only point was that Pantera was massive back in the day. You're taking my words completely out of context. What I said was a general statement and it wasn't even directed at you.
