I really like this album. Maybe boring for you but idk. Simplistic songs don't bother me.

Complex music is much more interesting though Chuck. And bands who are better musicians have more potential. I mean if you listen to Converge, Meshuggah, or Dillinger and then listen to this its just boring as all hell. A band doesnt have to be complex to be good, but it doesnt hurt either. You being a Rush fan should know that. If you took Rush's complexity out they would be just another average rock band, kinda like how The Ghost Inside is just another average metalcore band.

I agree and disagree with you Yankee. Yes, obviously more complex are going to be much much more interesting musically. But for me, I listen to complex bands to boggle my mind and learn something from them and be impressed by their skill. I listen to bands like TGI and OMAM and such bands to have fun and chillout. Rush just happens to be one of those few bands that is both complex and super fun/enjoyable

Fair enough. I can name a bunch of shitty and mediocre bands I think are just "fun" though, but that doesnt really make them good or interesting to me. Limp Bizkit is "fun". Most pop music is "fun". It seems everyone throws the "fun" label around when they know the music isnt very good.

Yeah but its the way they bring it all together.

Look at BTBAM they're all great at their instruments but it doesn't keep their music from sucking.
