I didn't like The Whip Hand chorus until I realized the synth is supposed to imitate an E.C.T. treatment ~MIND BLOWN~

His voice literally sounds perfect in the beginning...the way he say everest and blue (I literally think about it because I'm a fag, the way those two words sound...plus to not mention the drummer on this is a crime, he really holds the album together
Ps the whip hand is the perfect introduction. Its a smack in the face "yo, this shit is guna be different get ready"...ohhh it's called whip hand, maybe that makes sense, I feel like I get it now...and the landmine part is one of the mars voltyist mars volta parts...you don't truly like tmv if you don't get chillz/musicgasm when that part kicks in...

i thought he was saying 'everest' in an odd way at first...but i'm pretty certain it's 'mountains of avarice.'

made mine ache a bit, too. he still has plenty of strange enunciations that i'm drawn to.

So i got this right when it leaked. First listen = "what the crap?" but then for the next few days a lot was stuck in my head. So i listened again probably another 6 times. I really really like it. Its very different and interesting. There are weak points but songs like Trinkets Pale of Moon more than make up for it. I will give myself a few more weeks but i think maybe a solid 3.5 or a 4. But im excited for where this could bring the guys next. I really like how stripped down it is even Omar's live rig is tiny in comparison to before. They are really allowing the music to do its job here. Instead of forcing it. I personally think they should have switched up styles right after Frances. Aside from Day of the Baphomets Also the song Zed and Two Naughts sounds a lot like the song "Frances the Mute" from A Missing Chromosome.

On my first listen the album was kinda cool but a bit forgettable. I'll see how it grows on me. I already like The Malkin Jewel more than I did at first.
