I think I get what you mean. Speaking of me I'm a sucker for sustained rhythms and catchy hooks, I think that explains my choices.

Lots of good melodies and riffs on this one. It feels pretty effortless

At first I really liked this album but after a while I just didn't care for it.

Likewise, but after coming back to it I was quite impressed, as I'm sure you can see with my rating :P

It sure is one of the most underrated debut albums. The vocal performance and songwriting is way too good for this album to chart below 50.

"after a while I just didn't care for it."

I went through a similar phase, but after playing it again recently (I was re-playing every Ryche album I stopped listening for a while) I like it even more.

If they make another album as good as this, I will be thoroughly satisfied for sure.

They dramatically improved after firing Geoff Tate though. I didn't find the new album as good as much of Sputnik does, but it was the first good Queensryche album in 19 years.

They said that their upcoming work will be heavy and progressive, and they also said that about 15

tracks are ready but they want to reach a number of about 20-24 tracks to have something to include in

special editions for different countries.

Aiming high, I guess.

I sure hope it can at least outmatch their self-titled LP.

It really is. I wish my mom could be into power/progressive metal as well, but she is not a metal fan like me. My dad is seriously into Rush like I am though.
