when I first listened to this band i thought "OMG THESE GUYS RULE" but that was ust the first time listening, after that I found that they sounded extreamly cheesy and... lame, so for having such poor lasting apeal (imo) i dun think it deserves more that a 2.5

The best Dragonforce album. This one is actually "good", honestly. The other one's... Not so much.

I've actually heard good things about this album when compared to their other stuff. Maybe I will check it out given time.

Best Dragonforce album. Not saying much, though. Even so, the title track kicks ass.

the solo at the end of valley of the damned is the best solo they've ever done.

To be honest, I used a Dragonforce fan back when I was 13. Eventually I got bored of most of their shit - didn't bother purchasing Beatdown after listening to a few songs, dumped pretty much the whole Inhuman Rampage except Flame of Youth and Cry for Eternity, kept some of Sonic Firestorm... but surprisingly enough, I still have nearly all of Valley of the Damned's tracks on my playlist except Heart of a Dragon. Used to be my least favorite but now it's the other way around.

It's a *really* solid Power Metal record, featuring great solos, solid drumming and a vocalist that won't bother you much - it'll keep you headbanging for a loooong while - without shame of the album's theme.

Best DForce album although i dont get why you didnt recommend valley of the damned as a best song. its like all bands that have a true epic. e.g. metallica (fade to black) Iron maiden (Iron Maiden) turisas (battle metal) etc... and valley of the damned is thier epic.

otherwise great review

Black Fire came up on shuffle and reminded me that this album is actually quite good. Oh the nostalgia.

DragonForce's good days. I love every track on this album.... This was before they became to guitar-focused.
