Goddam, I am so fucking sick of people complaining about this album's "wankery" and how it's "directionless" and all that bullshit. When people go on and on about it, it makes me feel like I'm listening to a completely different album! How can you NOT hear the structure of these songs? Sure, they may not repeat a lot of parts, but each part is clearly defined, and slows down and speeds up when it needs to. And the longer songs are long because the lyrics feature stories that take time to tell, and there's lots of instrumental breaks thrown in to beef up the songs and keep them interesting. When you use a structure like that, the songs end up being kinda long. But every single part of each song is so well-written, and the transitions are so fucking perfect, that you never get bored. Fuck, I love this album.
