Slayer's best album.
Like with anything in life, you have to dig through a lot of dirt to get to the treasure. After you dig through their catalog going back in time, you'll pass underrated albums like Undisputed Attitude, Divine Intervention, and Hell Awaits. You'll also pass overrated albums like South of Heaven and Reign in Blood. But then, when you get to the bottom - there it is in all of its youthful glory.
The Slayer stands like a champ looking at you with black eyes of fury. Equipped with boots of speed, a girdle of storm giant strength, a cloak of protection, and a +5 longsword, believe me this demon will Show No Mercy until the end of time.
With classical guitar solos, some of my favorite riffs ever, Araya actually singing and playing bass, and Lombardo hitting a snare like a madman, this album is like no other Slayer album. When I was younger I didn't care as much for this album, but to me this album has aged like fine wine.

Can these guys even play their instruments, yet?
The riffs are so boring in this. They seem to have gotten much better in the 90s, and their latest albums are so killer. Can't wait for the new one.

So damn true.
Back in the days (86/87) I was completely into Maiden and Priest. Still remember the first time I've listened to Slayer...One friend of mine call me pussy...
-Dude you need to listen to Slayer. Thrash rules, classic metal is for pussies!
He had the "Live Undead" tape. First song I've listen was Black Magic.
Fuck!! The heaviest shit I ever listened to.
If you ask me what's the song that best defines thrash, I will answer Black Magic.

How? How the fuck do you fit so many killer ass riffs in one album?
Legion, folks, that's how.
This is the best thrash album ever cut, imo. These riffs were written by Bach from the bowels of Hel, they were rubbed against Kelly LeBrock's mound, then Legion blew His evil breath on them and handed them to Slayer outside the recording studio before this was made. I fucking kid you not.
