bfmv and a7x actually used to be my favorite bands
some of this is still cool, but i think a7x's material has held up a lot better

A7X definitely had higher highs at points

funny how they just stuck hand of blood into the poison on spotify

This was their highest point for me. The Poison still had some quality stuff, but Scream Aim Fire was a real disappointment when it came out and even worse looking back now.
I can't say I really cared to follow them much afterwards

I remember buying Scream Aim Fire on the same day that I bought Fortress. Made it look a lot worse at the time for me.

Tbh for me it's weird. Fever was a return to the side of them I liked most off The Poison but not as good. Temper Temper was kind of a dud. Venom was way way way too safe. Gravity got a lot of hate but has at least 4 of their top 10 best songs for me. And the newest self-titled feels like everything that was good about them mixed together. I loved it.
@Spec: yeah Fortress owns

This EP kicked ass. I can’t put my finger on why this sounds so unique/fresh for the genre, on paper it’s as stereotypical as it gets…
|
| |
Never really digged any of their releases after this but it didn’t surprise me to see them blow up

lmao
My prayers have been fucking heard. The EP has been reissued and I can get it at a reasonable price. Second-hand obviously, after the stunt of '25 I don't feel like buying shit directly from them.

Why do they have thrash in the tags? I mean, there are some thrash tropes on SAF, but hard rock or emo would make more sense there.
|

@arthropod - do you mean cancelling the rest of the massive tour they were on with Trivium? Shit made Tuck look like a right nob end.
I saw them in Vancouver and both albums were 2005 in a nutshell for me.
And yes I bought the reissue of this on Oxblood vinyl- goes hard.
The demo version of Four Words will always be the "right one" in my head though.
