I mean even if you don't like this I wouldn't really call it generic melodeath. They were pretty early in the game with their demos being some of the earliest material released in the genre. Kinda hard to call them generic when they were some of the first to do it. That would be like calling Helloween generic power metal.
I mean the sound of the actual music bro. Dissection, Vinterland and Dawn came up around the same time but their music is the exact opposite of generic. Idk, just my opinion.
