This band/album were pretty influential on my taste looking back. Doof, I think you’d like The Knot more than this one tbh, that one has a unique nocturnal slowcore/folk/shoegaze atmosphere, this one has similar influences but a leans a bit more in the pop direction they went later, structurally at least.

The Knot is really good too yeah. I also LOVE The Louder I Call and think it rivals this as their best but I seem to be in the minority with that opinion lol.

Yeah I don’t like Louder I Call, I mean it’s fine and has a few very good tunes but mostly I find it comparatively mediocre. Shriek and Tween are both excellent as well though, the former being very good synthpop and the latter having their best straight up dream pop stuff.

I have similar feelings about most of Jenn’s solo stuff, she is a good singer and songwriter but imo she does not write singer/songwriter style stuff as was as she does stuff with more interesting/exciting instrumentals.
