And that's one of the things I love about this album. Although it wouldn't be the same without the awesome drums.

Middle part of Marasm is Meshuggah-ish. Wolfe, you should love this, even if you do despise me.

Probably gonna end up 4.5ing this and digging it. Willie, did you listen to Cult of Luna yet?

No. I probably won't get a chance until this weekend.

Edit: Someone needs to crank out a decent review of this (no offense to the guy that wrote this one) so that I can feature it because it doesn't look like I'll have time.

Alright. Just tell me what you think when you do. Also thanks for putting this album in that list and having that description that caught my eye.

If you 4.5 and dig you'll be just like me.

(which is a great thing)

Maybe I'll do my debut review for this.

It is at work. I can pull it up on my iPhone and plug the computer speakers into it, I guess... hold on (impatient son of a....)

If you can make it good enough I'll probably feature it.

Blasting post-metal loudly at your computer should make your boss love you.

I work nights, no one is here. ;)

Anyway, it's cool. It reminds me of the mellower parts of this, but that's not a bad thing. I think I like the higher energy of this album, but I'd have to hear the entire other one to really know (and will do that this weekend).

This will probably be a 4.5 later but i'm sticking at with the 4 for now. It's a bit overwhelming to listen to as a whole. But it sounds really fucking good.

I've found that it's only overwhelming if you skip the ambient parts.

66 minutes just seems a bit long to me...I end up thinking of this more for it's hardcore aesthetic than its post-metal aesthetic. A band like Neurosis can pull off a 70 minute album and make it seem completely necessary but i'm stuck (at least after 4 listens in two days...haha) feeling like this should be no longer than 50 minutes. It's like that Trenches album from a few years ago...that was the perfect length (though admittedly it's not quite as good as this...it was just perfectly digestible for the genre).

I don't know what i'm saying anymore but this is really good.
