hybrid theory wasn't that bad, I was always into this more than meteora, but whatever.

this is one of those bands you love for a month then move on.

also, together with Rammstein's Mutter, the first metal album I bought.

Irony has it I still listen to Mutter.

it is LP's best album. it is good, but the band itself isnt good. a nu-metal must have for this great CD. i dislike most of LP's other stuff though

i know, we had that run in earlier in the Van Halen 3 review. Meteora is DECENT, she can kill me for saying that. other than that, i can't stand these guys.

Whole Lotta Led got it right. You don't have to be an LP fan to enjoy this album. At least back when I first heard of this (8th grade) no one was talking about it, then one year later the whole flippin' world-- whether your cup of tea was rap, metal, hardcore, etc.-- you were hearing this and liking it. I have found it very rare to find a single person who did not enjoyt this album at one point of their lives-- even if it was for just "two days." What's not so rare is the people that claim they NEVER liked this as though it's a shame to admit that you liked this band at one point. I know that after 5 years I am still a fan of this band and unlike many people who have moved on to what they say are "better" bands is fully an opinion and no one should get offended over that. Whether you like this band or think they are total douches, the fact remains-- you either own or owned this album and you loved it at one point so you understand what the people that STILL love this album feel.

Now for the people that completely hated LP from the start-- you are a rare breed and that's cool.

After recetly listening to some of the tracks from this album I've made a shocking discovery. It's really, really bad. Yeah, I'm Sherlock Holmes.

OKAY BEFORE ANY LP FAN POSTS REMEMBER THAT METALLICAMAN8 IS ENTITLED TO HIS OPINION AS POSTED ABOVE^^. DON'T AUTOMATICALLY START CALLING HIM STUPID OR ANYTHING. LETS KEEP THIS FORUM INSULT FREE... especially since insulting someone online for their opinion isn't really fulfilling.

ha ha ha. no i'm just so damn tired of people who can't take an opinion just cuz it's not their own. maybe because most bands i like are the "you either hate 'em or love 'em bands" so i've gotten use to the ultra fan boys/girls and mega haters... not just regular haters, they're mega haters

I know Whole Lotta Led... that's what I meant, that you said it perfect that you are no LP fan, but still enjoy this album. You don't necessarily have to be a fan to enjoy music

Yeah, when I was obsessed with these guys this was all I listened to. I listened to it a few months ago and still enjoyed it even. It's an enjoyable album, despite it not being metal at all. The songs are just oh-so catchy.

Can you think of a more fitting genre for them?

nobody said you had to take mine, but that is all they do in the verses of their songs, they rap. and then they sing in the chorus, but i guess we could go with mine

Of course everything AFTER this album, just went down hill

it's a shame really, oh well

Plus I heard the new album is going to be pretty good

LP should just have quit after this album.

It's a great album and deserves all the praise it gets.

Unfortunatly, the durge of turds they shit out after HT took some of the feeling out of this album.

I'm going to go and listen to it for the first time in about two years now :D.

I think Linkin Park would be a lot better if they put some real emotion and personality into their lyrics. I mean, most of this reads like it was taken out of a book called "Teen Angst Lyrics For Dummies". I mean, seriousely, could it get anymore generic?

Plus Mike Shinoda is the worst rapper ever, so if he wasn't in the band, that'd also be a plus for. Otherwise, the melodies and stuff are pleasant enough. But like any "catchy Top 40 pop record" (and that's what it is), it gets boring real fast.
