I almost would like to say I prefer the cleans found on Empire a little more then the cleans on Deceiver. When you compare the old and new "Battle Royale" you can hear the change. But you have to lose something in progression.

its tough because, when anyone thinks 'what are the three worst bands of all time' they will inevitably come to Attack Attack, Escape the Fate, and Radiohead, so its tough to disassociate these terrible acts from their offshoots and side projects. This is a lot better than ETF, but not nearly as pleasant a surprise as OMM's album was.

THis is a 3.5 its solid but not awesome maybe a 4 idk.

also lol @ rosa grow up, bro.

Well tbh if you trace back why I listen to music like this it will all lead back to ETF's first Ep. I loved it. I hated This War is OUrs and still hate it. I do not like Of Mice & Men. Even live I didn't think they did a great job. I prefer AA! over them anyday haha. The Word Alive shouldn't be associated with ETF at all. People barely even knew Craig was in the band unless you were following twa from the beggining.

Well if you want to go with the generic claim then this is "generic metalcore at its best" or would you disagree with that as well.

Winsomniac try Hounds of Anubis on Youtube and see what you think. No promises though.

I very highly doubt that this is generic metalcore at its best.

title track on ETF's first EP is rickrawssbawss but the rest is meh. also, i thougth mabbitt formed TWA... the only thing i knew about them going in was that they look like they suck and craig mabbitt used to be in the band.

Calling of Syrens split and the remaining members needed a vocalist. Craig filled that spot and the word alive was formed (from what I understand). Craig also joined etf and went on tour with them. TWA didn't like that they were not craig's priority and booted him in favor of Telle.

Lol Hounds of Anubis sounds like a ridiculously watered-down Within The Ruins song.

edit: I don't like the singing. There's singing? WTF.

Vocals suck anyway. I can't decide if the overdubbed screaming (which obviously can't be mimicked live) that just tries too hard or the cheesy high pitched poppy singing is worse. Both are generic and fake as hell.

I don't know, man. Something about the singing pisses me off. And when I get pissed off, I listen to heavier bands.

The screams are dead on live. Singing may be a little studio edited but is still good. You may even prefer the live singing more. Sorry Winsomniac :/

I smell a bromance. Also, I think I just don't enjoy scene bands as more. I'd sooner align myself with the 'bro' crowd. Not your fault, Promise.
