Poetry of the Deed is better than Sleep. Sleep is mostly shitty lovesongs which are generally his worst.
Better Half is the only song on this I really don't like.

His lyrics were largely better when he was with Million Dead. I mainly love his acoustic stuff for the more punk-vibed songs anyway, since I can relate pretty heavily to the disillusion (and dammit, he writes good lines).

million dead's lyrics were good, but i can relate to just about everything the man says on his solo stuff, be it the love songs, the political songs, the punk let me down songs, and even the flippant songs (heartless bastard motherfucker)
