Just listened to the album. I have to say I quite enjoyed it. It has its fair share of crap tracks but this is balanced out by the remainder which are quite good. Mind you, I am a Parkway Fan to begin with.

I doubt we'll be getting anything from Converge this year, but there's a chance for the rest. Poison the Well's re-recording some unreleased stuff from their first three albums apparently, and I've heard rumblings about a new ATR. Unearth and Misery Signals would just be conjecture, but they're about due.

I think Alone is a progression, albeit not much of one. honestly, I'd probably be disappointed if this was anything but a mindless breakdown-fest. I don't listen to PwD to be intellectually stimulated, I do it to kill some brain cells and zone out while driving or something.

I kinda get that, but I feel like they switched their focused from technical riff-writing (well, technical for PwD -- on Horizons) to a more atmospheric or mood-creating approach (this one). A somewhat minor change, but a change nonetheless.



I actually like this album as much as Horizons probably, I may either lower that one from a 3.5 to a 3 or bump this one up, haven't decided yet. meh, i'll probably forget to do either.

vocalist shoudl have his own band that is actually good.

although i enjoy a few songs from these guys

it has been a lackluster year for metalcore so far, i will say that. Option Paralysis and The Blackest Curse are the only two really stellar releases that I've heard, well Throats too, but when this and a new AILD album could possibly be in the top 5 it's a bad year.
