all the instruments and the vocals are compressed together. Theres no variation in any of the sound of the instruments/vocals its a constant brickwall of sound, unlik VOD which didnt give me a headache halfway through. Listen to VOD and then this through good headphones and you'll notice there a much more dynamic range in the production, which makes it sound more natural and pleasing to my ears, instead of a constant barrage of everything at the same level for over an hour

ALL midrange with no bass and muffled treble, almost no bass guitar presence, stock modern thrash drum and guitar sound, and worst of all brickwalled worse than fucking Death Magnetic

Victims of Deception sounds fucking awesome in comparison to this. Great drum sound (especially snare sound, and I'm picky about that), you can actually hear the bass guitar sometimes (especially in its best moments), classic thrash metal guitar sound, and best of all great dynamic range.

"a constant barrage of everything at the same level for over an hour" is a pretty accurate description of brickwalling, as long as you note that that consistent level is loud as fuck.

By the way, three songs from this (Arrows of Agony, Dying Season, and Empty Nothingness to be specific) were released in demo form by this band in 2005, and they actually sound leagues better in my opinion. Not perfect, but they're demos.
