I've heard a little of both and they definitely seem like heavy listens. But I'll get around to them soon. Most of my existing ratings will probably shift for the better once listening again.

martha is an amazing song, i first heard someone cover it in a tv show and i was taken aback by how gorgeous it was and just had to seek out the album. nothing else on here is as strong but i enjoyed it all (despite the drunk uncle vibes)

This is an amazing album as a whole. And I really like the drunk uncle vibes on it. It has all to do with Tom.

This has a handful of absolute stunners and a load of solid but safes, hmmm. Nice debut I guess

Oh my god what the fuck this fucks so hard why did I think Tom Waits was a guy singing in a Scooby Doo voice over Looney Tunes sound effects

Yeah if this is your first Waits you're in for a treat. I don't remember much about this one though, funny enough.

If you like this, definitely check The Heart Of Saturday Night, one of my all-time favorites. More of this heart-on-sleeve drunken nocturnal vibe.

I'm restarting my discog run. This holds up even better than I remember. Just some really sentimental, homey and beautiful tunes.

Honestly I did the full discog run last year including the crystal gale album and this is easily in the top 5. It’s even my favourite some days.

Closing time, open all the doors
And let you out into the world
Closing time, turn all of the lights on
Over every boy and every girl
Closing time, one last call for alcohol
So, finish your whiskey or beer
Closing time, you don't have to go home
But you can't stay here
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
Take me home
