yeah, he for some reason chooses what I feel are his worst tracks to be singles/videos/myspace songs -- no idea why. I just took a look at his myspace and the only tracks there that are good representations were October on the Beach (a freestyle off his latest mixtape) and Bloom (the last track on there).

I dunno man, I didn't like that either. He raps like the way I used to write in high school, just embellishing his lyrics with so maby shiny bells and whistles that it just becomes inane. It's a certain style of lyric/writing that I can't stand. That said, I didn't mind October on the Beach and Bloom tho. Eh.

huh, maybe Mac's just not for you Streetlight -- I can't get into Gucci Mane no matter how hard I try but a lot of people love him. I've noticed with Mac Lethal that there's not much middle ground, love him or hate him deal.
I personally like that he rhymes more than 1 or 2 syllables at the end of each line, a lot of his stuff goes off 4-5 syllable rhyme schemes and other stuff like alliteration and inner-line wordplay -- but I can see how that might seem masturbatory or over-the-top to some.

then again, if you liked Bloom and October on the Beach, maybe it's just his serious stuff that's rubbing you the wrong way. idk, give this whole album a listen if you're still interested, or one of the more recent Love Potions.
