A diamond in the rough from a terrible era of hip-hip. The above-mentioned albums all suck.

I think 2000s rap in general was unfairly maligned bc a lot of it is made for clubs and backpackers don't leave their computers

Almost a year late but that statement is 100% correct bro. I'm probably the biggest advocate for 2000s hip-hop in this site's history lol. I love so much of it. It's what I grew up on.

Also Get Low's comment up there is one of the most moronic/worst takes I've ever seen.

I mean 2000’s rap is a mixed bag with a lot of hidden bangers, but hype/party music is always gonna have diminishing returns for me. Even growing up in the 2000s and having it played heavily by family and peers didn’t stop me from realizing how mindless a lot of it was. Not everyone was to the caliber of people like OutKast or Kanye or even Weezy. I will always be able to quote Grillz though lol. I still think that the bling era was better on average than the current shit too, so idk. Bling era had better bars on average, current era has better production on average.

I love this era. Cash Money was my favorite growing up. It may lack a bit of "substance" but there's just so many damn bangers.
