A letdown. Hard to connect with such outdated themes. Most songs still don't resonate. Growls solid, my prob. is with clean vocals. Thick accent often sounds like he's off key or has a speech impediment. Epiphany actually worst track 4me at present.

I don't need to connect with the themes, when the music is really swell.

Agree that quality of music is way more important than lyrics/themes. It was my annoyance with the vocals that drew my attention to the lyrical content.

Is Anthropocentric supposed to be the heavy counterpart to this?

Also, you guys can't really blame the vocalist for his overuse of clean singing/vocal melodies because he was merely singing over the already-cheesy instrumentals.

Í believe so.

My problem wasn't that there was a lot of clean singing/melody, it's just that I didn't like his clean vocals in particular. His strong accent made his clean vocals sound weird or out of tune. The music is lacking something too.

I just hope they can recapture the energy and fury of Aeolian especially. Opener 'City in the Sea' is a ball tearer.

Personally, I think Loic has an awesome screaming/growling voice. His performance in the Origin tracks really stands out. I wouldn't get TOO excited about Anthro being viking fucking heavy. I remember Robin saying that it's still gonna have its acoustic type tracks. Apparently it also features the very first Ocean songs that weren't written by Robin. Hope Loic gets the chance to unleash his growl/scream.

Yeah, I can't argue that one. That said, I don't think his vocals are as bad as everyone makes them out to be. Just unfitting, really.

Any reason why Meta left in the first place?
