Hey, hey, don't get me wrong buddy. =/
I'm not trying to diss your taste. It just didn't click with me as it did with you.
They're great song writers but I hope that they make more material like 'World News'

nono - it was all in good fun! i enjoyed our little conversation, but it was a disagreement nonetheless
|

Well yeah, not everyone can agree on music. =)
All a part of music discussion though; learning from each other.
I just love the simplicity in the story of 'World News'. That last verse hits hard.

cards and quarters is a 'sleeper' fav of mine. but wide eyes and sun hands to me define the album
|
| |
'Sun Hands' is great! Loved that track.

'sun hands' was my favorite for a while and i think it is the most unique on the album, but for me 'wide eyes' takes the cake

Band played at my uni yesterday. Airplanes and Sun Hands were so good live.

I saw them at Reading...they were pretty good but Los Campesinos! and Wild Beasts blew them out of the water.

These guys are like mockingbirds. Taking a sound from another source and making it their own.
|

World News is spectacular. Just...so stunning.
|
| |
way better than the new fleet foxes, to give a dumb comparison
|
| |
I don't think so. =/
Considering a lot of Local Natives' base sound came from Fleet Foxes; I constantly draw comparisons
but end up preferring Fleet Foxes' vocals and layers.
And for me; the album had too many stand outs and too many skip-able songs that made the stand outs
the only tracks worth listening to. =/

i find this album really bland and uninspired as a whole
|
| |
I actually found it rather inspiring at times tombits. Read the lyrics to 'World News'. They're rather wonderful. Maybe not well worded but still a good tale.

Their blogotheque performance of 'Who Knows, Who Cares' is possibly the best/most enjoyable performance I may have ever watched. Very impressive band.
