Well, it references Poe, so I'd hope so.

Album is horribly underrated - everything about it rocks hard.

I doubt anything by Eluveitie will ever be underrated but this is pretty solid.

It's slightly disappointing but still a fun album to listen to.

"ya silkforcalde who could ever give lazarus a.d. and the great misdirect 1/5's?"

The Great Misdirect is a horrible album. The songwriting is nonexistant. It's just a bunch of noodly boring bullcrap without any direction. Such a disappointment. Every album since The Silent Circus has been worse and worse and now they are at current-era Mastodon levels of failure.

"Oh wait, he rated The Great Cold Distance a 2/5. Fuck that guy."

Formulaic, trite and dull release from a band that was once great. I'd have given it a 1 / 5 but there are a couple songs that are pretty decent like July.

"the essence of ashes" sounds alot like dark tranquillity's song "hedon" at some parts

Haha listen to ""Kingdom Come Undone" and tell me that's not hugely influenced by "Dreamlore Degenerate". This album has DT influences out the ass.

I definitely see the "Hedon" influence to that song.

given that they released their acoustic folk album between slania and this one, i would have expected their sound to change and incorporate more of the folk-ish elements. instead, this feels like a continuation of slania.

that having been said, while the other songs are appropriately solid, lugdunon is the one that really shows progression from slania and through evocation I (and that's why it's one of my favs)

Well... the reviews on Encyclopaedia Metallum for this one are mostly unfavorable. And since Slania was already boring from what I've heard (except for a few songs), I'm not really inclined to give this album a try.
