I still remember the first time I saw the Obscure vid when I was younger, sleepless nights followed hahaha.
Still love that song, the remake jams too m/

I've replayed that song so many times, still rules. Seen this version Pleb? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJmRxvZB88Y
Vicious.

I'll have to watch it later man but I love the rawness of the original.
The remake has better vocals and groove arguably, especially Kyo's low growl at the start omgggg m////

Then you'll love that vid because it's the orginial but even more raw. The remake I only like live tbh, in studio it sounds soulless and is devoid of character.

The Final is an awesome re-imagination on the Unravelling though man, I love that version

Yeah I think it rules too, will be nice if they play it on tour.

Also, the Ash remake on the Ningen EP rules very hard.

It's intresting but I was kinda eh on it unfortunately, perfer the older version.

I prefer Ash to Ningen lol.
Utafumi is yet to grow on me properly as well.

Utafumi in studio is ruined by the most lethargic guitar production/groove ever. Live it's better since the other details like Kaoru's guitar part in the intro are more noticable.

The "Ash" remake is sweet, hoping to see live footage of it.

Speaking of this bands live sound damn, they've come a long way.
Some of the live vids from the Marrow era are pretty difficult to watch, Kyo looked like he was in a bad place.

Yeah, considering rumours about the band's dissolution around that time, they all were, but Kyo more so.

I remember seeing a vid of them at Wacken like 10 or so years ago and he was bleeding from the mouth, wretching etc.
Voice sounded shot to hell as well.

Probably the performance of The Final when he mutilated himself. If I'm correct he only self harmed once 2008 onwards, but with what that performance was it was fitting.

Self harm was common between 2003 and 2007, with the later years getting more extreme. Apparently people thinking he only did it for show were an incentive to make it worse; that, and stories about a manager being fine with it too. Either way, glad he stopped.

He’s still so intense onstage though.
I get the feeling they prefer playing Japan as opposed to Europe too.
When I saw them at a festival in 2013 they had sound issues and only played 4 songs. Kyo also looked so disinterested, still sounded like a beast but he was probably annoyed the sound techs cost them a proper set.

They don't suit festivals at all, regardless of country tbh. It wouldn't surprise me if they liked local shows more since it's far less travel and hassle, however, they've played many amazing gigs overseas on their individual tours.

I think most bands like DEG don’t suit festivals at all. They’re really a band that’s best when they play a regular/headline show. Yeah, it’s no secret that Kyo doesn’t like touring overseas much but their last American tour despite it hitting only the major cities was by his account their most consistent one in terms of quality of performance.
My personal distaste for some behavior by fans during meet and greets and shows aside (they really tried to push one another as close to the front to the point of suffocation), they really put on an amazing performance that night I saw them. From Tousei onward it was really incredible. The crowd went into berserk mode for Child Prey.

There's only 10 vinyl copies of this in existence, holy.
