Feels the most "of its time" of the big Godflesh releases, but fuck me do they show they still have it. Still, I feel like the hiatus after this was a good idea for everyone involved. Doesn't have the huge peaks most Godflesh albums have, but it's still a super solid listen all the way through.

Good proshot material from Hellfest. What a fucking setlist:
Love is a Dog From Hell
Shut Me Down
Post Self
Pulp
Streetcleaner
Jesu (I'm not sure they've ever done this one live!)
Weak Flesh
Like Rats
(Justin a bit sloppy on guitar though.

woah "Rollercoaster" really is a far cry from anything else I've heard from him... obviously easiest thing to compare it to is other Pale Sketcher material or maybe Never since that release incorporated some of the Pale Sketcher sound, but it still stands out
assuming it has no relation to his Krackhead track of the same name... two very different rollercoasters

Us and them and this one are the weakest Godflesh albums for me. It's like their music got more mature and pensive but lost some its warm, aggressive tone and the flowing rebellious attitude of their earlier albums

Seeing these guys next week, decided to jam this on a whim, pretty good. I really liked Anthem on the first go. I’ve only ever listened to Streetcleaner a few dozen times otherwise

if they play a song from this it will likely be Defeated. I think they don't particularly care to revisit this record much but they do play that song frequently
