Good review. These first three tracks are my favourite three Death Cab songs, so for me it's a great way to open the album. For mine it's their best album, I enjoy this the most by far.

this album isnt terrible, but... its fits every cliche and what not. a descent album, but easily falls in as death cabs worse.

i think plans is a really good album, but soul meets body was a weird choice for a single. 'marching bands of manhattan' is a good opener for the album

Yeh just can't compete with BUCKETHEAD can it? Lololol.

Anyway, this verges very close to a 5 for me, it works as an album almost as well as Trans does.

not quite, trans has no filler, where almost half of this is

Well, what do you think is filler on this record? I think every track here is at the very least exceptional.

I guess hearing this album a lot first kinda ruined Transatlantacism for me. It seems a little boring kinda compared to this, but both are pretty good anyways.

basically the middle, tracks 5-8, and I say 5 because it's painfully overdone

5 is a beautiful song, 6 is quite possibly my favourite Death Cab song, 7 is a simple yet powerful example of what Gibbard can do as a songwriter and 8 is sunny, enjoyable indie pop. Perhaps it's not exactly at home on the record as the rest of it is, but it still provides a nice contrast.

But I'm thinking of what Sarah said....

Love is watching someone die

So who's gonna watch you die?

Awesome record.

Only morons give albums like this a 1.

I'm sorry, but this is objectively not 'awful'. Whether you think it's sub-par, average, great or classic is up to you, but giving it a 1 is objectively a stupid thing to do.

Transatlanticism is their best, but this is a close second.
