they sound nothing alike. one band plays Immolation metal, one band plays generic tech/brutal death

I can only think of one band that sounds anything like Immoaltion, and thats Incantation.

I always thought of Immolation as techy, brutal death metal, although CtaWB and MaD are the only ones I have.

generic tech/brutal death. Think you are an alright guy, but I am going to disagree with you on that. There are some similarities to the band very seldomly by the fact they are a death metal band, but you can tell their sound apart.

well the reason I say generic is because, aside from the occasional Egyptian bit (whivch I think is pretty cool), there is very little to me that separates it from any other brutal tech death band. but thats just my opinion.

Those are just elitist that need to get their head out of their asses. Music is music. Death metal is death metal. Yeah, some bands have a variating style within the genre, depending on the bands. But really, come on. And I am not saying they sound exactly the same, I could pick out an Immolation song from a Nile song, but you know, they have the same ingredients to make a death metal record, but they add different spices to give it a different sound.

well my original point was that if I was in the mood for something brutalish and fast, I would go for Suffocation or Immolation before I reached for Nile in most cases. but you're just acting like I said Nile was better or something, which couldn't be further from what I said. Trust me, I know better than to compare Converge to Unearth (lest the metalcore fanboys dookie in their pants) or Immolation to any other dm band (lest the dm fanboys poop their pants).

EDIT: that was for FadeToBlack, not SteelErectedb4you8er

I listen to a shit done of death metal.

Wow, my mind is blown as to how you could actually rate this as a 4.5 then...

The fact that you guys dog on Nile shows me you really don't listen to the records very carefully...that you just disregard them because it is Nile or maybe it is elite not to like Nile.

No, I used to love Nile, fact is, they haven't progressed enough over time to keep my interest, at all.

To each their own though, but if you actually listen to this record.

That's an incomplete sentence.

The riffs are great, the playing is great, and the songs are well put together.

The riffs are mediocre, the playing is fine, the songs are poorly composed.

Witchxrapist, you seem to be getting offended. There was no need to get angry here. Everyone is entitled to their opinion,

whether you think it is wrong or right, that is your deal. If we were talking about the last Nile record, I would be agreeing with

you, but this album is really strong. I mean, this is a music site, and everyone has different ears for music. The thing that

upsets me most about this site is it seems that most people are followers, and the people that have different opinions get

ridiculed just because they don't think the same to what the majority thinks. I think if you actually listened to this record and

weren't multitasking, or trying to listen to 5 new bands in two hours.....you actually paid attention to the recording, this is a well

put together album. But hey, that is what I think about it.

Witchxrapist, you seem to be getting offended. There was no need to get angry here.

What are you talking about? I could really care less, I just said it baffles me that you listen to "a lot of death metal" and think this is good.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether you think it is wrong or right, that is your deal. If we were talking about the last Nile record, I would be agreeing with you, but this album is really strong.

WELL I DON'T AGREE

I mean, this is a music site, and everyone has different ears for music.

Oh wow, never thought of it like this!!!!

The thing that upsets me most about this site is it seems that most people are followers, and the people that have different opinions get ridiculed just because they don't think the same to what the majority thinks.

If you think I'm one of these people, you're vastly mistaken.

I think if you actually listened to this record and weren't multitasking, or trying to listen to 5 new bands in two hours.....you actually paid attention to the recording, this is a well put together album. But hey, that is what I think about it.

I have listened to it, I still find it poorly composed and lackluster, regardless of the excellent musicianship.

Great live band though first album slayed, Annihilation slayed.

Alright then, let's kiss and make up. Nah, but that is cool. I like it, you don't. I am sure we have albums that we would agree on that rule and/or blow hard. But I do listen to a good chunk of death metal, I just happen to really like this record.

This album kicks some serious ass. I just finished listening it through in one go (for the first time), which is something I rarely do as I don't think that many albums are as consistently amazing as this is. I was never the biggest Nile fan, but I am now. I need more.

Some nice musicianship, no emotions whatsoever though... It's just fast wankery, don't see what's so technical about it. I've listenened to a fair deal of death metal and never liked it, I somehow always give most death metal bands a thorough listen but that's as far as it goes. Basically there isn't much beyond the increase and decrease of tempo. Of course, complexity doesn't make a good song, but there isn't much complexity either. The fast peddling gets tiresome pretty fast without any variation whatsoever. The vocals are even less inspiring, diversity is a myth.

This is a massive album. The production is perfect for a band like Nile, you really hear alot more of the music.
