For the record, the "mini-drum bongo things" mentioned on Forest are called roto-toms. I've been meaning to pick some up for my set.

Dead, I disagree about Daron's riffs as a whole are not creative. Sure, there are some heavy riffs that are like "1-0-1-0-1"-style power chords, but there are some different ones as of late (and probably on this album) that are somewhat complex. "Question?" seems to have a somewhat complex riff at the beginning, just as an example.

Still cant bleev that chop seuy is their most famous song..... i mean im not saying its bad but its just not the best on this album

.....no.
Its clear to say that MTV has chosen their most 'famous' song up to now, to be B.Y.O.B. or Question. What would you expect from the channel that can make anything popular, as long as they have that 'hypnosis' method with the younger aduience.

SOAD is gonna have a new album out? When?
|
| |
SOAD are so much better than all other nu metal bands (translation: they dont suck) because their music actually has energy to it. aerials was a boring, skipable song to me because there is no energy at all. psycho is repetitive but still a good song. the main riff is pretty awesome.
o i give this album a 4.5/5 except for aerials every song is great

I like psycho, I'm with you on aerials though. It's very boring.
The album as a whole is very good. Deer Dance is my fav.

Don't know if anyone else has posted this or not, but ATWA is a ballad that's actually a tribute to Charles Manson.

I honestly have a hard time seeing what the big deal is with this album. Sure, it's good, but not worth a Grammy! I think their self-titled was much better. Still an awsome band though.
|
| |
It's just that toxicity broke them to more mainstream listening base, I agree the first album was better and still is the best new system is just mostly all riffs and chords to where the self titled actually had solos

very nice track by track. maybe a little more background, but the issue is really nothing to lower the integrity of the review. as for the album...my 2nd fave SOAD album (coming second to the ST). my favorite song for the moment on the album is 'Deer Dance' because its so bouncy. this is really the album that put SOAD on the map so a lot of people called them 'Sell-Outs' which is a bunch of bull. They didn't sell out for going in a different direction. There is less 'wtf' music and more 'omfg 1337 pwnage' music (sorry... ), but for (almost) any soad fan, the difference is scant. I would definately recommend getting the album if you havent heard much SOAD. This is more than likely the album to get you hooked. And ill say it again, very nice review.
