It sounds like Nergal was listening to alot of Deathspell Omega before he wrote this, some of the songs (esp Shemamforash and Alas, the Lord is Upon Me) use DSO-like dissonant melodies with the trademark Behemoth rhythm section behind it. Nergal said he likes Deathspell Omega alot so who knows.

this album sounds exactly the same as previous albums. i do like a few of the songs. just not much making me want to listen to it again. also, i think it's better produced than previous albums.

Being a "noob" in the death metal genre, my opinion counts as nothing.
But, personally, I think this album has enough hooks to keep someone listening from start to finish, with a few real standouts, like "Ov Fire and The Void" and "Daimonos."
Some of the vocals are a bit overdone, and it definitely offers very little that's different from previous releases, but it's a solid album.
