I agree, the new Burial was a bit of a surprise. It wasn't horrible, but just not what I was expecting. Still excited to give their new album a listen though.

I did and I was not impressed at all. I'm actually surprised at all the high ratings it has given that it's all 7 string juns and shit.

for the record silentpotato, this album i felt was a bit hit and miss, so many cool melodies which just got ruined by being unable to put them together coherently. The sampler for the new album makes me wet.

Ah ha, but that what makes this amazing! The super melodic guitar/synth lines countered by the aggressive rhythms and overall harsh production just make this something else...

if you say so blocs. I hope they fulfil their potential in the upcoming record. I just love their innovation, if they can put it to good use.

We will see what happens next year. Sturgis is handling it, so that makes it even more questionable.

Wasn't Bulb supposed to be producing some sort of EP for them too, or was that just the rumour mill?

That's what I thought too, but I think the plan was scrapped.

Goshdarnit. I was looking forward to a djenty BoO too. Especially seeing as BoO don't rely on pretty-boy cleans.

Ah well. Guess that their new album can't come fast enough now. The previews sound awesome. I wonder what made them scrap Bulb.

Maybe he tried to replace their vocalist with a clean-cut emo-influenced soprano?

They didn't scrap bulb. They recorded the EP, and were going to release it, but Sumerian told them to

just wait and put the songs on the full-length.

Misha said something about them producing the rest of the album themselves so I think they scraped the

Sturgis idea.

Curse.

Ah. That explains it. Ah well. I was really looking forward to a Bulb/BoO duo. And I was looking forward to having something to tide me over before this 2011 release date business. But ah well.

And he be trollin'. ;)
