Only just really discovered Neil Young recently through this album and I was really blown away. I didnt think he was as good as this, why did i avoid this guy for so long. i think because I always thought of him as a dorky dopey singer. LOL I was SO wrong.

Album is a bona fide mind blower

"Mind blowing" is such an asinine and immature way of describing what this is
But agreed 100%

Would be a good thing to recheck the album. Maybe I could bump it up.

There's just something about this one. There's the odd album that goes beyond 'classic' this is definitely one of them.

Don't let it bring you down
It's only castles burning
Just find someone who's turning
And you will come around.
This my favourite NY album, and there is some fierce competition I should say!

@zak: Yeah finally started exploring his discography. I'd already heard a lot of his most famous songs but he has lots of other great material too it seems.
I've gotta say though, nothing else he's done comes even remotely close to this album's title track. It's so much better than everything else he's written (that I've heard) that it almost has a negative effect on his discog for me, as although he has some other really good songs, none of them are on or near the same level as After the Goldrush.

My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue) would be my choice for a song that says the lot. It really does encapsulate everything for me that one.

great album, 3rd or 4th favourite neil after nowhere, rust never sleeps and on the beach but they're
all classics
|
| |
This is easily my favourite out of the three I've heard. I like it a lot more than On the Beach.

i find that on the beach has a much stronger atmosphere and is more cohesive and interesting
musically, but this does perhaps have the better songs
