have you heard the singer kenny i mean the way he moves from soft angelic verses to the choral heights that only he and a lone few others can soar

Never heard these guys music before today. Downloaded "Sound Awake"...listened too it, subsequently ordered it along with Themata off their site. Reminds me of Oceansize and Tool

Apparently he's one of those people that lurks around sputnik for a few weeks before joining. He must have caught wind of the system.

Great album...very mellow and more atmospheric than themata. On further review though goliath sounds an aweful lot like APC lol. I don't even care though...The rest of the album has them progressing into a sound of their own(I guess catchy anthemic choruses balanced with odd time sigs. and fairly technical riffs. I love their bassist

Set Fire To The Hive is pretty good, might check the whole album out. Nice job getting a featured review.

Uh, Set fire to the Hive might be one of the less interesting songs on the album, but it's the only hard rock song. The rest is pretty slow altern prog rock. I like it. :D
About the prog feel:
Yea, a lot of people say this band has some tool sound.

good stuff :D

I have to say, this definitely eclipsed my expectations. I feel like this album also may have the distinction of having the loudest, most present bass in all of alternative rock music. That shit is LOUD, and probably improves the quality of the album as a result.

Changed my mind about a few things. Change is now alot better in my mind than it was at first (oh, and for people saying its 'hello, hollow, halo' I really don't think that second comma should be there, it strips it of its meaning). Illumine isn't all that bad, it just suffers from bad placing, being only a semi-good track immediately after the boring as shit Caudal Lure. And I like Umbra less now too.

A pretty big call to make.

The bass is pretty thick, to be fair.

Only on the first two tracks. It takes more of a back foot after that.
